To prevent corruption and other acts of fraud or misappropriation, Kimia Farma Trading & Distribution (KFTD) applies strict guidelines for accepting gratification. Procedures for receiving gratuities are regulated in corporate governance guidelines by prioritizing the code of ethics that applies in KFTD.
This also shows KFTD’s attitude in minimizing the possibility of corruption practices to the smallest extent possible.
How KFTD Manages Gratification within The Company
The implementation of managing gratification focuses on the following principles:
- Prohibition on giving or accepting money/gifts/appreciation on behalf of the company.
This is a strict rule imposed on all members of the company. The prohibition is not limited to receiving gifts, but also rewarding. When an employee is offered a reward addressed to KFTD in any form, he/she is obliged to reject, whether it’s from a business partner, government personnel, or any other third parties.
- Reporting any gift or reward given
A gift, appreciation, or reward given by a third party to an employee’s family is allowed as long as it doesn’t clash with a conflict of interest and does not represent KFTD. The types of authorized materials are also regulated in the company’s guidelines, which are bound to be reported.
The employee must report the gratification by citing a clear identity, form and type of appreciation given/received, and other specifications to the Gratification Control Unit (Unit Pengendali Gratifikasi KFTD). From there, further investigation will be conducted to conclude whether it is acceptable or not.
- Implementing Whistleblowing System (WBS)
Demonstrating a strong commitment to fighting corruption and preventing fraud, KFTD accepts reports from third parties on any suspected gratification through its whistleblowing system. The system allows safe reporting and is used to maintain KFTD integrity in upholding anti-corruption principles.
Kimia Farma Trading & Distribution attempts to reinforce good corporate governance by providing a healthy, clean working environment. It also provides clear guidelines for managing gratification.
