The course is supported by an open Moodle learning management system (LMS). The course Moodle site is here.

Although much participation will be through open web-based tools and your own blogs, we will use Moodle for asynchronous discussion forums, activities and assignment handling.

The Moodle site will open for self-enrolment on 23 April 2012.

Please remember the course is still in development.
It will not start until 21 May 2012.
There will be many changes between now and 21 May.

Registration on the Moodle learning management system. Registration on the learning management system gives you access to the discussion forums, curriculum learning blocks and the assignment handling system. To “enrol” on the course in the learning management system you can click on the link on the course Home site or go directly here []. On the landing page you will have three choices:

  • Is this your first time here?
  • Returning to this web site?
  • Login as a guest (small button lower left below “Returning to this web site?”)

If you have not set up an account on this course you will need to click on the button labeled “Create new account” below item 7 in the text on the right. Follow the instructions in points 1-6. When you choose a password you should have at least 6 characters comprised of at least one Capital letter, at least one number, and one non-alphanumeric character (e.g. #+><; note some non alphanumeric characters are reserved, such as @ for email addresses, so you can’t use them).

Once you have set up an account you will be taken to our Moodle home screen: [] There you will be able to click on the course title and enter the course.

If you wish to browse the course learning management system without creating an account you can do this by clicking on “Login as a guest”. Guests will not be able to write in the forums or on the Wiki or upload any files, but will be able to read the content on the site.
