Assessment

This course is a pilot development funded by the Higher Education Academy and the JISC. One of the aims of the course is to pilot a process leading to the accreditation of the massive open online course model.

It is our aim to accredit this course at 5 Credit Accumulation and Transfer (CATS) points at Level 7 (see Credit in Higher Education and Higher education credit framework for England and  The frameworks for higher education qualifications and credit: how they relate to academic standards).

In order to pilot the assessment process for accreditation we can offer up to twenty five (25) participants the opportunity to receive individual feedback from tutors on their activity on the course (see Assessment on the course Moodle site). Although this course is not yet accredited, we are able to offer participants, who undertake to receive individual feedback and who successfully complete the activities, an OCSLD course completion certificate.

Participants who wish to engage in the pilot assessment scheme must complete the course Registration.

For participants on the Oxford Brookes University New Lecturers Programme, this course completion certificate is the equivalent of participating in the face-to-face version of First Steps into Teaching in Higher Education (see Associate Teachers Course and First Steps).
